The Jewish community in Yugoslavia “has especially close ties with Yugoslav Jews in Israel and the societies of Yugoslav Jews in the United States,” according to a spokesman for the Federation of Jewish Communities in Yugoslavia. He said that “our contacts with many Jewish organizations and institutions all over the world continue.” The spokesman reported that the Jewish historical museum in Belgrade which is supervised by the Federation has recently received research grants from a number of individuals and organizations outside Yugoslavia.
