The Jewish Daily News thinks Coolidge’s re-election is due to the confidence on the part of the public that Coolidge stands for prosperity.

“The chief factor in Coolidge’s re-election was the belief that there is more prosperity under a Republican administration. a belief which it is really possible to substantiate by statistics taken from various periods. This confidence on the part of the public crowded out all other issues and gave Coolidge the victory.”

COOLIDGE MUST NOW SPEAK AGAINST KLAN

Commenting editorially on President Coolidge’s re-election the Day (Nov. 5) believes that Mr. Coolidge should now speak out against the Ku Klux Klan.

“President Coolidge”, says the Day, “has become the leader of his party, the leader of the country. with a full mandate from the people, and we are certain that now, when political motives and campaign methods are no longer required. he will come out with a definite statement against the Ku Klux Klan. Coolidge. the candidate, had some excuse for remaining silent. but Coolidge, the President, is in duty bound to speak.”
