The Jewish deputies submitted a protest to the Roumanian Minister of Education against the behavior of the Roumanian school inspector in Galatz. The Ministry declared it will order an investigation.
The inspector, who visited the Jewish Volkschule in Galatz asked nine year old children in one class the following questions: “Are you Jews or Roumanians? Which country do you love more Roumania or Palestine? What will you do in case of war between Roumania and Palestine?” The inspector then hurled insulting remarks to the children, stating that “Jews are parasites on the life of Roumania. Pack your baggage in time and leave for Palestine!”
