The Jewish National Fund dedicated a 10,000-tree forest Sunday in honor of Meir Yaari, the veteran leader of Mapam, on the occasion of his 80th birthday. The forest is near Afula in the valley of Jezreel. The tree planting ceremony was attended by JNF chairman Moshe Rivlin; Natan Peled, representing Kibbutz Artzi, the kibbutz movement of Hashomer Hatzair; Victor Shemtov, representing Mapam; and Yaacov Schwartzberg of Kibbutz Merhavia, Yaari’s residence.
