The Jewish National Fund said it suspended workers involved in the alleged uprooting of saplings planted by tourists. The JNF also announced that retired Israeli Judge Arie Segelson will head an independent examination of the issue. In addition, the JNF said it plans to sue the Israeli daily Ma’ariv, which first ran an article describing the incidents.
