The Jewish population here is much worried by a new law providing for examinations for artisans, bookkeepers traveling salesmen and a number of other vocational groups. The law has only just been published and goes into effect March 16.

Complete mastery of the Lithuanian language within the time limits, one of the requirements under the new statute, is an impossibility to ninety per cent of the Jewish artisans and is there fore one of the chief causes of concern.
