Reports current here and which have spread to Europe about the murder of the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, Haj Amin Effendi Husseini, were denied today in an official government communication to the Jewish Telegraphic Agency.
Government officials explained that the Mufti was at present in Mecca, Moslem holy city in Arabia, where he is endeavoring to negotiate peace between Ibn Saud, king of the Arabian kingdom of Saudia, and the Iman Yehia, ruler of Yemen. War between the two Arab kingdoms broke out some time ago in connection with a frontier dispute. Ibn Saud holds the city of Mecca and most of the Arabian peninsula.
