The Jewish Telegraphic Agency learned from reliable Egyptian sources that Foreign Secretary Sir Alec Douglas-Home expressed concern over Soviet influence in Egypt during a discussion with Egyptian Deputy Premier and Minister of Culture Abdul Kadar Hatem. Both officials were attending the opening of the Tutankhamun exhibition here. According to the source, Hatem told Sir Also that the alliance between Egypt and the Soviet Union was a policy of convenience for Egypt rather than an alliance between two countries having the same outlook. Egypt would break its Soviet ties once Mideast peace is established, Hatem added.
