The Jewish youth of America were called upon to join forces with those elements in the American community that are fighting for the reduction of armaments and for the achievement of international peace at the closing session yesterday of the ninth annual convention of the Young People’s League of the United Synagogue of America.
Resolutions were also adopted stressing the need of more intensive education and of greater interest in Palestine upbuilding work.
Dr. Cyrus Adler, president of Dropsie College, was toastmaster at a luncheon. Speakers included, in addition to Dr. Adler, Dr. C. A. Beury, president of Temple University; Rabbi A. Lazowick and Dr. Abraham A. Neuman.
The following officers were elected to serve for the coming year: Harry H. Goebel, New York, President; Bernard Marmatz, Philadelphia, Maxwell Mangold, Julius Bachman and Edward Aaronoff, New York and Albert Copaken, Kansas City, vice-presidents; Jules Wise, New York, treasurer.
