The Knesset approved a bill Wednesday providing for a revolutionary change in the Israeli electoral system. Israelis would elect their representatives in two ways: the majority of Knesseters in regional elections, and the minority by proportional representation which is presently in use. Voting against the bill was Herut, National Religious Party. Independent Liberals, Aguda-Poalei Aguda, Rakah, Moked and Mapam.
