The leader of Israel’s Labor Party predicted early elections would be held between March and May 2003. Benjamin Ben-Eliezer, who also is Israel’s defense minister, said the elections would be moved forward because of an ongoing budget crisis, and that he expected his party’s convention in September to focus on social and economic issues.
