The Lima Symphony Orchestra concluded its winter season with the presentation of the Concerto for Harp and Orchestra written by the Israeli composer Ami Maayani. The concerto, which was received with standing ovation, was performed by Celia Mertens, an Argentinian married to a Jew, who met Maayani in Israel where he introduced her to his concerto and supervised her study of the composition. Among those in attendance at the performance last week was Ambassador and Mrs. Moshe Avidan of Israel.
