The mask of the Ku Klux Klan will be universally discarded Feb. 22, according to the “Sunday News” and “Age Herald” of Birmingham, Ala.

This action will be taken, the newspapers say, as the result of action taken at a meeting in Montgomery last week between Dr. Hirman W. Evans. Imperial Wilfred of the Order, and high State officials of the Alahama Realm.

The reasons for the action, it Is said, are the opposition to the mask inside and outside the order, and the desire to forestall further State and municipal legislation against the order.
