The National Conference on Soviet Jewry reported Tuesday that 782 Jews were allowed to emigrate from the Soviet Union last month. August marks the second time this year that Jewish emigration decreased: in July, 819 emigrated; and in June the figure slipped to 796, after reaching 871 in May.
