The Netherlands postal authorities will not issue a special stamp this year commemorating the 50th anniversary of the birth of Anne Frank. The request to issue such a stamp had been made by parliamentarians of the three main Dutch political parties. Mrs. Nely Smit, Undersecretary for Communication, in reply to the requests, added there is a possibility, however, that when a number of special stamps will be issued next year to commemorate the 35th anniversary of Holland’s liberation from Nazi occupation, one of these stamps will commemorate Anne Frank, West Germany, where Anne Frank was born, announced meanwhile that it will issue a special commemorative stamp.
