The only ritual bath on Malta escaped closure. The approximately 80-family Jewish community on the Mediterranean island was warned that the mikvah would be closed and its building sold unless the community raised $40,000. Avraham Bistritzky, a New York donor associated with Chabad Lubavitch, donated $25,000, and the community raised the rest.
