The OSCE appointed a special representative for anti-Semitism. The move by the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe is believed to be the first time an international body of member states has had such a position. The American Jewish Committee welcomed the move. “The creation of this new post indicates that European nations are recognizing the uniqueness of anti-Semitism and are ready to confront this most vicious form of hate,” said David Harris, the AJCommittee’s executive director.
