The owners of two matzo factories swept by fires of suspicious origin in recent weeks have been given lie detector tests in the course of an arson investigation. The affected plants were said to have supplied about 60 percent of the country’s matzot but the Ministry of Commerce and Industry reported Monday that their share of the local market had declined to 40 percent. Other matza bakeries are working overtime to avoid a matza shortage before Passover which falls at the end of April.
