The Palestinian Authority said it is determined to see that a U.N. conference slated for Thursday take place, despite Israeli calls for its cancellation. A Palestinian Authority official said Monday that the self-rule government is not interested in a confrontation with Israel, but wants to remind the Jewish state of the Palestinians’ international standing. The session is expected to examine whether Israeli settlements violate the Fourth Geneva Convention.
