The Palestinian Central Council delayed a meeting to discuss statehood until after the new Israeli government is formed, the council’s chairman said Monday. Salim Za’anoun said the council, which was to convene at the end of the month, decided on a postponement because its deliberations will be affected by the policy positions adopted by the government of Prime Minister-elect Ehud Barak.
