The Palestinian diplomatic mission in Britain was upgraded to “Palestinian General Delegation” in a move virtually making the mission’s status that of an embassy. A British Foreign Ministry official was quoted as calling the change – – which would bring British-Palestinian diplomacy in line with the European Union’s approach — “not really such a big deal.” The Israeli Foreign Ministry reportedly expressed concern about the upgrade and called on its London embassy to look into the matter.
