The Palestinian economy has lost an estimated $426 million as a result of the ongoing violence in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, U.N. officials said. The officials also reported that the socioeconomic situation among Palestinians facing border closures, loss of jobs in Israel and restricted mobility in the self-rule areas “is now taking on crisis proportions.”
