The Communications Ministry reported today that there are 19 telephones in Israel for every 100 people, a higher per capita rate than in France or Italy and almost equal to that of England. The Ministry said a record number of phones were installed during the 12 month period that ended March 31. The national telephone network grew by 15 percent in the past year, a near world record according to the Ministry.
