The president of Finland should mediate Middle East peacekeeping, according to Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat. Martti Ahtisaari’s success in brokering a Kosovo peace agreement last month proves he should “play a similar role in the peace process in the Middle East,” Arafat said Thursday during a visit to Helsinki.
