The president of the Israeli Supreme Court rejected a request from Aryeh Deri to allow the former Shas Party leader to delay his jail sentence until after the Jewish holidays. Deri is slated to begin serving his sentence on Sunday, and Shas Party supporters are vowing to accompany Deri and set up a makeshift yeshiva outside the jail.
