The question of flogging prisoners in Palestine prisons was raised in the House of Commons by Lietutenant-Commander Kenworthy.

Replying to the question, Colonial Secretary Amery stateed that there are nine Jewish Communists in the Jerusalem prison who are causing considerable trouble to the prison authorities. Flogging is the legal punishment for violence in prison and the High Commissioner has been satisfied that flogging was the proper punishment in this case, the Colonial Secretary stated.
