The recent spate of anti-Semitic incidents in Russia were “separate incidents” and were not part of an organized campaign, the nation’s chief rabbi was quoted as saying Wednesday. Just the same, “we want the state to protect us,” Adolf Shayevich said. He added that he did not believe the incidents had led to the recent, dramatic rise in the number of Russian Jews leaving for Israel.
