The Reform and Conservative movements jointly denounced the rejection by Israel’s Chief Rabbinate of a key recommendation that was meant to resolve the controversial issue of conversions in Israel. The rabbis rejected the proposal of the Ne’eman Committee to establish a joint conversion training program that would include the participation of non-Orthodox rabbis.
