The relief of the unemployment situation in Palestine is a duty on the part of the government and not merely an act of benevolence, Lord Plumer, High Commissioner of Palestine, told a delegation of Jewish labor from Tel Aviv in an audience today.
The labor delegation asked that the Palestine government grant a loan of £15,000 to the municipality of Tel Aviv for the completion of public works which will end the unemployment situation in the city. The delegation declared that there are now 2,750 unemployed in Tel Aviv.
The High Commissioner promised to consider the matter.
