The Republican Israel Caucus of the U.S. House of Representatives is calling on President Clinton to act to ban all Russian cooperation with Iran’s missile program. In a letter to Clinton that is being circulated on Capitol Hill to gain more lawmakers’ signatures, the group of pro-Israel Republicans is threatening congressional action to impose a U.S. boycott on Russian firms that have contacts with Iranian military programs. Vice President Al Gore is scheduled to address the issue at a meeting next week in Washington with Russian Prime Minister Viktor Chernomyrdin.
