The return of the wilderness and a mental stagnation through inbreeding were the possibilities described by Rabbi Marius Ranson at the Twentieth Century Club yesterday. The Rabbi’s subject was “Restricted Immigration versus American Greatness.” Dr. Ranson is rabbi of Temple Sharey Tefilo of East Orange, N. J.
“There is a central issue” said Rabbi Ranson, “that must be faced and settled soon if we are not to become a house divided against itself. The native stocks who got here first must realize that their legal titles to the land and resources and mines and water-powers of this continent are to be theirs only to hold in trust, and for the provisional use of a Greater America, rather than for the exaction of tribute.”
