The Romanian town of Jassy this week commemorated the 35th anniversary of the pogrom perpetrated by “Iron Guard” troops in which dozens of the city’s Jews were killed and some 1,200 deported to Nazi concentration camps and eventual death. The city’s mayor unveiled a memorial and a special commemoration ceremony was held in the municipal theater.
