The San Francisco Zionist District is sponsoring a Zionist oratorical contest for boys and girls from 16 to 21 years of age to be held at Temple Beth Israel here on April 19. Subjects of the orations will be confined to matters of Zionist interest.
The Zionist district also is sponsoring a Palestine note book contest for children up to 16 years of age. Note books are to be filled with essays, stamps, literature and any other material pertaining to life in the Holy Land. Five prizes will be given by the Zionist district.
The judges will be Mrs. M. C. Sloss, Dr. Henry Harris and Judge I. M. Golden.
A “Back to the Synagogue” movement, the object of which will be to affiliate Brooklyn Jews with their neighborhood synagogues, will be discussed at a meeting of the Brooklyn Council of the United Synagogue of America, which takes place at the Brooklyn Jewish Center tomorrow evening.
