The Senate appropriations committee has unanimously adopted an amendment by Sen. Alan Cranston (D. Calif.) that U.S. economic aid to Israel never be less than the total of the interest and principal Israel pays the U.S. on its annual debt. The rule has a five-year limit. The amendment will be part of the continuing resolution of the 1985 budget which includes $2.6 billion for Israel.
There will be no Bulletin dated October 8, Columbus Day, a postal holiday.
