The Simon Wiesenthal Center asked the French government to cross-check its records of suspected war criminals with a list of French citizens receiving German war pensions. Rabbi Abraham Cooper, associate dean of the Los Angeles- based center, said the French response would be a “litmus test” of its willingness to cooperate in tracking down suspected war criminals.
