The Simon Wiesenthal Center urged Latvia to prosecute two suspected war criminals now living in Australia who are natives of the Baltic state. Efraim Zuroff, the head of the center’s Jerusalem office, issued the call as an international panel of experts was planning to meet Thursday and Friday in Latvia to discuss the cases of Konrad Kalejs, 86, and Karlis Ozols, 87.
