The spiritual leader of Hamas called on Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat to stop cracking down on the militant movement and to start standing up to Israel. “The Palestinian Authority is hounding the Hamas movement,” Hamas co-founder Sheik Ahmed Yassin told Israel’s Channel Two television. “I view it as wrong, as unjustified aggression.”
