The State Department is placing the Al-Aksa Brigades on its list of foreign terrorist organizations. The move was announced after a member of the group, which is affiliated with Palestinian Authority President Yasser Arafat’s Fatah movement, carried out Thursday’s suicide bombing in Jerusalem, killing at least three and wounding more than 100. Once the move is carried out, U.S. bank accounts linked to the group are frozen and members of the group may be denied U.S. visas.
