The State Department says it will allow Israel to lead the investigation into the death of an American pro-Palestinian activist. Rachel Corrie, 23, was killed in Gaza on Sunday by an Israeli bulldozer during the demolition of a house allegedly used by Palestinian terrorists. Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon told President Bush on Monday that his office would monitor the investigation, the White House said.
