The sum of $80,000 was expended on the maintenance of the Mizrachi schools in Palestine, according to a report by Rabbi Wolf Gold to yesterday’s session of the Mizrachi convention. The schools have an attendance of 7,500 children, Rabbi Gold reported. Two teachers’ seminaries are also maintained by the Orthodox Zionist Organization.
An appeal by Gedaliah Bublick, president of the American Mizrachi, resulted in the convention’s raising of a large part of the organization’s deficit.
Rabbis in every Jewish community in America should exert pressure upon their congressmen to raise the Palestine question at the coming session of congress as did Rabbi Sadowsky of Rochester, Rabbi Saul Silbert told the convention. He stated that Rabbi Sadowsky had already received a promise from the congressman of the Rochester district that he would introduce into congress a resolution asking England to abide by the Palestine Mandate.
