The Swiss bank guard who prevented the shredding of vital Holocaust-era bank records was awarded a full four-year scholarship at a U.S. university. While he studies at Chapman University in California, Christoph Meili and his family will be supported by a group of Holocaust survivors and the Jewish community. Meili received acclaim throughout the world, but also the hostility of some of his countrymen, after he turned over financial records containing information on dormant accounts from the Holocaust era to the Swiss Jewish community.
