The Swiss Foreign Ministry said Wednesday that it had learned a convicted Nazi collaborator would flee France two weeks before he came across the border to Switzerland. But the ministry did not act on the information regarding Maurice Papon. The tip came from a former Swiss ambassador to France, Eduard Brunner, who said he got the information from people close to Papon.
