The Tel Aviv District Court postponed until March the trial of a German citizen suspected of planning to help the Hezbollah fundamentalist movement carry out a terror attack in Israel. The court said the delay was given to allow German authorities time to begin extradition proceedings, if they choose. Stefan Josef Smyrek was arrested in Israel in November, following a joint investigative effort by security officials in Israel and Germany.
