The Temple Covenant of Peace of this city, is observing its 86th anniversary during this month with special services. On Thursday evening, November 15, Rabbi Philip David Bookstaber, of Harrisburg, Pa., will speak on “The Mary Letters” and a special program will be rendered. On the following evening, Rabbi Benjamin Friedman, of Temple Concord, Syracuse, N. Y., will bring greetings from the Union of American Hebrew Congregations.
The Congregation Shomer Adas of Chicago laid the cornerstone of its new synagogue, now under construction, on Sunday afternoon. The program included the presentation of the colors by Roseland Post No. 49 of the American Legion, a short speech by Ben Mer, President of the Congregation, a sermon by Rabbi Joseph H. Margolies, and an address by Judge Henry Horner.
