The trial of the three Jews, M. Kotz, N. Schmer and Isaac Tune, accused of the murder of Jan Grotkowski, Polish student, in a street brawl, last November, was renewed here today.
The death of Grotkowski last November led to bloody riots against the Jews in Lvov and many other Polish cities. It also led to a renewal of anti-Semitic propaganda all over Poland. Originally four Jews were arrested and charged with the crime but later S. Keller was released by the Polish authorities.
Grotkowski succumbed to knife wounds received when he and five drunken companions returning from an all-night party engaged in a drunken brawl with Jewish passersby.
