The U.N. Commission on Human Rights adopted a resolution last Friday condemning Israel for detaining thousands of Palestinians without trial and the “expropriation of Palestinian homes” in eastern Jerusalem. The resolution, which also accused Israel’s government of contempt for the principles of the Middle East peace process, was adopted by the commission at its annual six-week session in Geneva, with 31 votes in favor, 21 abstentions and only the United States voting against.
