The U.N. commissioner for human rights announced that she will not seek re- election when her term ends in September. Mary Robinson is viewed by Israel and its advocates as one-sided in her criticism of the Jewish state. A former president of Ireland, she made the announcement Monday at the U.N. Human Rights Commission’s opening session in Geneva, where Israel expects to be the butt of another round of condemnation for the ongoing Middle East violence.
