The U.S. House of Representatives is slated to vote on legislation that would extend new protections for religious liberty. Jewish organizations, together with a coalition of religious groups, have been pushing for passage of the Religious Liberty Protection Act to fill the void created when the Supreme Court struck down the Religious Freedom Restoration Act as unconstitutional in 1997.
