The U.S. House of Representatives passed legislation authorizing $25 million to Holocaust survivor groups. The Holocaust Victims Redress Act attempts to make good on a postwar U.S. pledge to compensate Holocaust survivors for lost assets. The bill, passed by the Senate last year, now awaits President Clinton’s signature.
