The U.S. Reform movement’s rabbinical arm issued a call to all Americans to join Jews in making the final 10 days of September a National Ten Days of Atonement. The call was issued in a statement that referred to President Clinton’s reading from the Reform prayer book last week when he apologized for his actions in the Monica Lewinsky sex scandal. This year, the last 10 days of September correspond to the Jewish days of repentance.
